Advisory: March Flooding in Buenaventura, Colombia

Thankfully, the weather in Buenaventura is now stable. In total, nine beneficiaries were affected. The churches are supporting the families to repair their homes. Some families have already returned to their homes.

Update #1: April 6, 2020

The weather in Buenaventura is now favorable. So far, nine beneficiaries have been affected. Some families are living in their damaged homes, one family is living in the church and other families are living with relatives. Repairing homes has been difficult due to the quarantine. The Child Development Center continues to provide spiritual support, as well as food.

Please continue to pray for the affected beneficiaries and their families as they live either in damaged homes or temporary locations. Pray that the homes can be repaired soon.

Disaster Alert: March 16, 2020

THeavy rains have caused flooding in the Pacific region of Colombia, specifically in Buenaventura. The Compassion Colombia National Office staff and Child Development Centers are assessing the impact to beneficiaries and their families.

Please pray for the affected beneficiaries, families, and church partners as they recover from damages and losses.
