In total, one Child Development Center and 39 beneficiaries we affected. The affected families were supported by the local church partner utilizing our Crisis Relief fund.

Update #1: December 11, 2020

The community is still without electricity, so communication is scarce. Due to the damage from flooding, it was only in the past week that the community was able to be reached. The Child Development Center is supporting affected beneficiaries and their families using disaster relief funds. To date, 39 beneficiaries have been impacted.

Disaster Alert: November 30, 2020

The community of Frontera Corozal, Chiapas, Mexico is experiencing flooding from the passage of Hurricane Eta and now Hurricane Iota. The water level continues to rise and many homes are underwater. The community is without electricity as the power lines were turned off to prevent potential problems. ​​​​​The Child Development Center in the community is assessing damages to beneficiaries; however, a specific list is not yet available. Many families are staying with relatives in higher elevations and some are in the temporary shelter in the community.
