In total, two Child Development Centers and 417 beneficiaries were affected. The affected families were well supported by our church partners.

Update #2: December 16, 2020

The Child Development Centers and Compassion Mexico National Office staff have supported the affected families with food, water, blankets and clothing utilizing disaster relief funds. Additional funds will be provided to help families with temporary shelters, home repairs and replacing household items. To date, 417 beneficiaries and their families have been impacted.

Please continue to pray for the provision and peace of beneficiaries, families, and church partners as they are recovering from this additional burden in their communities.

Update #1: November 10, 2020

The Child Development Centers are still assessing impact, but power outages are making it difficult. Impact appears to be widespread, but to date, only 3 beneficiaries have been reported as affected. Disaster relief funding is being used to support affected families.

Please continue to pray for the safety and minimal losses for the beneficiaries, families, church partners, and staff.

Disaster Alert: November 6, 2020

As a result of Hurricane Eta, the area of Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico has experienced heavy, constant rains and flooding for the last 5 days. Three Child Development Centers are located in Palenque, Chiapas and all are impacted; however, specific details are not yet available due to communication difficulties.

Please pray for the safety and provision of all affected beneficiaries, families, church partners and staff in Mexico.
