Update #2: December 9, 2020

The rainy season continues and is expected to subside in March 2021. Thankfully, the rainfall has decreased at this time. The Child Development Centers and Compassion Colombia National Office staff continue to support affected families, as needed. To date, 112 beneficiaries and their families have been impacted.

Please continue to pray for the beneficiaries, families and church partners as they handle the weather disturbances and damages.

Update #1: November 18, 2020

Heavy rains continue throughout the country, with several areas on Red Alert. So far, 67 beneficiaries have been identified as affected. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) are taking preventative measures and continuing to assess the impact to beneficiaries, so they can support them appropriately.

Please pray for the protection and provision for beneficiaries, families, CDCs and Compassion staff.

Disaster Alert: November 10, 2020

HThe second rainy season has caused flooding and landslides in Colombia, particularly the central and western regions. The towns most affected are Buenaventura, Antioquia, Cordoba, Urabá, and Cúcuta. At this time, impact details are not yet available. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) are assessing impact to beneficiaries.

Please pray for the safety and minimal losses for beneficiaries, families, CDCs and Compassion staff in Colombia.
