In total, one Child Development Center and 632 beneficiaries were affected. All affected beneficiaries have received ration packs and daily necessities.

Update #2: October 4, 2019

The weather is now clear, sunny and the flooding has receded in most of the country. To date, one Child Development Center (CDC) and 573 beneficiaries have been affected. The CDC's have provided ration packs and necessities for the affected beneficiaries and their families.

Please pray for the affected beneficiaries and their families as they recover from the damages and losses.

Update #1: September 24, 2019

The rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the end of September. Three Child Development Centers (CDCs) have identified affected beneficiaries. So far, 94 beneficiaries and their families have been affected. More details about impact and the disaster response should be provided soon.

Disaster Alert: September 20, 2019

There have been heavy rains and flooding in multiple provinces throughout Sri Lanka this month. Roads have been flooded and transport has been disrupted. Some homes have been damaged. The Child Development Centers in the affected areas are providing cooked food and dry rations for affected beneficiaries and their families. They are assessing the affected beneficiaries to determine what other assistance they can provide. No beneficiary lists are available as yet.

Please pray for the safety and protection of our beneficiaries and Child Development Center staff in this area.
