Advisory: Floods in Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania

The government relocated affected families to new homes in an area that is not prone to flooding. In total, 56 beneficiaries were affected. Crisis Intervention funds were utilized to help restore livelihoods, replace lost items, and make some minor repairs to homes.

Disaster Alert: April 22, 2020

Heavy rains and hail during April 22nd – 24th, caused flooding in the Kilimanjaro region. The flooding damaged homes and household items and destroyed livelihoods.

So far, 56 beneficiaries have been affected. Some affected beneficiaries and families are living in temporary shelters and others are living in temporarily rented homes. Crisis Relief funds are being used to provide home repairs, to restore livelihoods, and to replace lost household items.
