Final Update: February 23, 2021

The affected families are back in their homes. They were supported by the local churches with food, clothes and blankets. All that remains is to continue to handle illnesses caused by the weather and flooding. A total of 10 beneficiaries and their families were impacted.

Thank you for your prayers for the affected beneficiaries, families and church partners.

Update #1: February 20, 2021

The water level is receding. The local government is creating a ditch to direct the water away from homes. To date, 10 beneficiaries and their families were impacted. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) provided food baskets to affected families. One CDC provided a wheelbarrow for a father that lost his job due to the flooding. He can now utilize it to help dig the ditch, as well as have the needed tools to start a new business.

Please continue to pray for the provision of affected beneficiaries, families and church partners.

Disaster Alert: February 3, 2021

Torrential rains caused flooding and rivers overflowed. More than 4,500 families were affected by the flooding in the Santa Cruz area. The Compassion Bolivia National Office staff and Child Development Centers (CDCs) helped provide food, clothes, mattresses, mosquito nets and cleaning supplies using disaster relief funds. The CDCs are still assessing impact on beneficiaries and their families, and a specific list is not yet available.

Please pray for the protection and provision of beneficiaries, families and church partners.
