Advisory: Flooding in Kagera and Mara Regions, Tanzania

In total, one Child Development Center (CDCs) and 18 beneficiaries were affected. The CDCs and the Tanzania National Office supported the affected beneficiaries and families with food, rented shelter and minor repairs to damaged homes, using Compassion's Crisis Relief funds. The National Office also plans to use Crisis Intervention funds to provide livelihood support and home construction. Thank you for your prayers for the affected beneficiaries and their families.

Disaster Alert: March 6, 2020

The Kagera region of Tanzania experienced heavy rain, hail and high winds on March 6th and the Mara region experienced heavy rain and hail on March 10th – 12th. The severe weather caused many homes to be damaged or destroyed and farms and crops flooded.

So far, one Child Development Center (CDC) and 18 beneficiaries have been affected.

The CDCs are providing food and temporary shelter for affected beneficiaries and their families. The Compassion Tanzania National Office is utilizing the Crisis Relief fund to support affected beneficiaries with emergency relief. They plan on also utilizing the Crisis Intervention fund to address shelter construction and livelihood restoration.
