Disaster Alert: August 25, 2020
On August 21 through 23, a heavy rainstorm caused the water level in the Salween River to rise and overflow. Flooding damaged or destroyed many homes along the river banks. Many areas surrounding the Jorplakee community were affected. The Child Development Center staff are assessing impact and supporting impacted families, as needed. So far, 14 beneficiaries and their families have been affected. Disaster relief funding has been used to provide household materials, mosquito nets, blankets, sleeping mats, dry food and water. Many of the families are temporarily living with relatives until they can repair their homes.
Please pray for the safety and provision for the beneficiaries, families and church partners in this area.
