The flood waters have receded and life is returning to normal in Samarinda. All beneficiaries and families who were affected have returned to their homes and are in the midst of the cleaning process. In total, 109 beneficiaries were affected. The assessment by the Child Development Centers and Partnership Facilitators continues to determine how affected families can be assisted in their recovery efforts.

Please pray for the beneficiaries and their families as they recover from the effects of the flooding.

Disaster Alert: June 12, 2019

Heavy rains have caused flooding in the city of Samarinda and surrounding areas. A number of main roads are flooded and causing traffic jams. So far, 88 beneficiaries have been affected, with some damaged homes and lost possessions. Thankfully, there has been no injury or casualty of beneficiaries and the three Child Development Centers (CDCs), located in the area, have not been affected. The affected families are staying in government shelters. The CDC's are assessing the impact and determining how they can support the affected beneficiaries.
