Disaster Alert: May 31, 2020

In late May, the Busega District, located in the Misugwi region in Western Tanzania, experienced heavy rainfall, flooding and high tides from Lake Victoria. Many homes and livelihoods were destroyed. At this time, beneficiaries impact details are not yet available due to COVID-19 restrictions and limited ability to visit beneficiary homes.

The Child Development Centers supported the affected families with temporary accommodations in rental homes. Some beneficiaries are living with neighbors or relatives. Crisis Relief funds will be used to further support the affected families.

Please pray for the affected beneficiaries, families, and church partner as they recover from losses and damages.
