In total, two Child Development Centers and 45 beneficiaries were affected. The damaged homes are being repaired by the church members and local government. Two beneficiaries are still living with relatives while their homes are being repaired.

Update #3: March 19, 2020

Most (43) of the beneficiaries have returned to their homes and only 2 are still living with relatives. Affected beneficiaries were supported with food, drinks, school uniforms, clothing, and school stationary.

Please continue to pray for provision for all the affected beneficiaries and their families.

Update #2: March 12, 2020

Daily activities are returning to normal in Bolmong. The affected beneficiaries are able to attend project activities, play, talk and eat together. The costs for meals and medicine are being provided with our Crisis Relief fund. The Compassion Indonesia National Office may utilize our Crisis Intervention fund to provide additional support (e.g. home repair/rebuilding).

Update #1: March 9, 2020

So far, two Child Development Centers and 45 beneficiaries have been affected by the flooding. The Partner Facilitator and the Child Development staff are supporting the impacted beneficiaries and their families.

Disaster Alert: March 6, 2020

After a few days of heavy rain in Indonesia, a flash flood occurred on March 4 in Bolmong, which is located in Bukit Zaitun, Batu Merah Village, Bolaang Mongondow District of North Sulawesi.

At this time, specific Child Development Center (CDC) and beneficiary impact details are not yet available; however, many homes were damaged in the flash flood. The CDCs visited the affected families and are providing food, medicine and drinks as needed. The Partner Facilitator may utilize the Compassion Crisis Intervention fund, if the needs require additional funds.
