Advisory: Fire in Pagadian City, Philippines

In total, two Child Development Centers and 30 beneficiaries were affected. The affected beneficiaries have been supported by the local government with relief goods as well as monetary assistance. The Child Development Center will supplement the support, as needed.

Thank you for your prayers for the beneficiaries and families, as it particularly difficult to be homeless during the COVID-19 quarantines.

Disaster Alert: March 23, 2020

A fire started behind an elementary school in the Balangasan District of Padadian City on March 14th. It spread quickly and destroyed nearby homes. The local government provided rice and canned goods, as well opened evacuation centers. Beneficiary impact details are not yet available. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) initially provided food and some temporary shelter for the first two days. The CDCs have also provided bedding, mosquito nets, kitchen supplies, food, clothing, and hygiene supplies to the affected beneficiaries and their families. The local government is providing some house rebuilding materials and the CDCs will also provide supplemental materials.
