Advisory: Fire in Iloilo City, Philippines - January 2019

Disaster Alert & Final Report: January 23, 2018

On January 15, 2019 at about 9 p.m. a fire burned 50 houses in Taal, Molo, Iloilo City. The fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the homes. The displaced families temporarily stayed in 4 classrooms in the Iloilo City National High School. The City Social Welfare and Development office provided the families with immediate relief (food and non-food). No Child Development Centers (CDCs) were affected. However, six beneficiaries' homes were destroyed. The displaced beneficiary families temporarily stayed in the high school, as their homes were destroyed. The City Social Welfare and Development office provided the families with immediate relief assistance (food and non-food). The CDC also extended relief assistance to the affected families of the 6 beneficiaries. Please pray for the families as they recover from the damages caused by the fire.
