Disaster Alert: March 16, 2020

On March 3, 2020 a heavy rainstorm with very strong winds hit the Nyagatare district. The rain and wind caused extensive damage to infrastructure in the area. It is estimated that five Child Development Centers (CDCs) and 19 beneficiary homes have been damaged. The CDCs will utilize Crisis Relief funds to provide basic items and support with building and home repairs. The CDC with extensive damage has already mobilized it’s church members to begin reconstruction. The affected beneficiaries are temporarily living with neighbors. Some CDCs are borrowing office space in non-affected CDCs
