Final Update: December 16, 2020

Rain showers continue in some areas of Sri Lanka and more severe thunderstorms are expected due to the monsoon season. A total of 225 beneficiaries and their families were impacted. The affected families were well supported with disaster relief funds for temporary shelters and food packs.

Update #1: December 7, 2020

The heavy rain and strong wind brought by the storm subsided on December 5. The Child Development Centers continue to assess impact to beneficiaries. To date, 217 beneficiaries and their families are reported as affected.

Please continue to pray for the affected beneficiaries and families, as well as the church partners that are supporting them.

Disaster Alert: December 3, 2020

The Burevi Cyclone brought strong winds, heavy rains and flooding to most areas of Sri Lanka. Damage is widespread. Child Development Centers (CDCs) are assessing impact, and to date, 34 beneficiaries and their families have been reported as affected. The CDCs are providing cooked food as well as relief packs to affected families.
