R. York Moore serves as National Evangelist for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship USA. He overseas InterVarsity USA’s national speaker’s team and trains and mentors speakers and preachers in and outside InterVarsity.
York has led over 13,000 students to faith in Christ through his teaching and preaching ministry coast to coast over the last 20 years with InterVarsity. He has also trained tens of thousands to relevantly and passionately share their faith in Christ.
Through his unique campus campaigns, “Justice Invitationals,” R. York Moore has been able to mobilize tens of thousands of faculty, students, churches, politicians, business leaders and others to passionately engage the issue of the commercial sexual exploitation of children while also challenging many “non and anti-churched” participants to follow Jesus Christ
Working widely with anti-trafficking non-governmental and not for profit organizations, R. York Moore has been able to help forward the cause of front-line organizations in their work to fight modern-day slavery for over 10 years.
R. York Moore is an innovator, strategist, gifted writer and communicator who seeks to bring organizations together to do more for the Kingdom of God than they could otherwise do by themselves in the areas of evangelism and justice/compassion ministry. He works widely with academic institutions, Christian colleges and universities, and academic leaders around the world as a ‘thought leader’ in the areas of leadership development, organizational dynamics, spiritual formation, evangelism, social justice, and cultural engagement.
York is the author of “Growing Your Faith by Giving it Away” and “Making All Things New: God’s Dream for Global Justice.” He has been published in several academic and popular journals and magazines on preaching, cultural engagement, and evangelism. He also serves on the Cabinet for the Luis Palau ‘Next Generation Alliance,’ a multi-nation coalition of evangelists striving to collaborate for world evangelization.
York lives in Detroit, MI with his wife and three kids.
