Member Since 2008, Vice Chair
Prior to retiring from 18 years of service as executive director of First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, Ron had a 26-year career in the U.S. Navy as a professional logistician, specializing in submarine support. A retired Navy captain, he has served around the world, in roles including commander of the Navy Supply Corps School (the Navy’s Business College), business manager of the Submarine Force in the Pacific and liaison officer between the United States and Great Britain.
Ron has degrees from the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College, where he taught courses in literature.
He has served on the Georgia Governor’s Military Advisory Committee, the board of directors of the Navy Supply Corps Foundation and the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce in Georgia. Ron is honored to serve on Compassion’s board, humbled by the opportunity to help lead in such a significant endeavor. He is aware that the enormity of this challenge is beyond human capability, but absolutely secure in the knowledge that, with God, all things are possible.
Ron and his wife live in North Carolina. They raised two sons and have four grandchildren.
