Dear God . . . Why do we have poor people?
Irene, I know your heart aches for people who have so little. If we're going to help the poor, those of us who can need to have a greater concern for others in all parts of the world. This is Wess Stafford, President of Compassion International. Children are dying from poverty. Some estimate 30,000 deaths a day of children under 5. They either can't get enough to eat, or they can't get minimal health care. It wouldn't take very much to make a change. For most of us it would represent only a few luxuries sacrificed. Start a local food bank. Sponsor a child. Volunteer to distribute food here or on a short term mission trip. What you do will make a difference! This is Wess Stafford.
