Dear God . . . What does the Commandment mean — love the world like ourselves?
What a great question, little friend! If you have a doll you love — but you're willing to give it to someone else who doesn't have one, it's kind of like that! This is Wess Stafford, President of Compassion International. If we truly did love the world like ourselves — the impact on poverty would be huge! What if all children in the church were provided with personal champions, adults who prayed daily for their growth in the faith? What if colleges and seminaries re-examined academic disciplines with the question, "What about the children?" What if Children's Day was as big a deal as Mother's Day or Father's Day?
