Dear God . . . Have you ever been teased? I'm teased all the time!
Oh Nutthkan, Jesus was teased a lot, too. But he found comfort in knowing that his heavenly Father loved him very much. And the same goes for you! This is Wess Stafford, President of Compassion International. A famous author said, "A torn jacket is soon mended; but hard words bruise the heart of a child." A little teasing may be good for building character — but harsh words can be harmful. I have a list, titled "Word Power!" It's made up of phrases to say to a child like, "Thanks for your honesty." "I love your imagination." And here's one we don't use often enough, "I'm sorry. I was wrong." Kindness gives birth to kindness! Especially when you speak to a child. This is Wess Stafford. Speak up with compassion to every child in your world!
