Dear God. . .If I don't go to church when I'm sick — will you be mad at me?
Not at all, Ade! Don't worry about God being mad at you, my friend. You're His kind of friend! This is Wess Stafford, President of Compassion International. Research keeps coming back to "active participation in a faith community" as the one consistent factor in raising children to be successful and productive adults. Unlikely sources like Duke University, The University of Michigan and the Center for Disease Control have done the research and agree that church involvement for a child can significantly reduce their risk from alcohol and drugs, improve their attitude toward school, and provide them with a lifelong moral compass. Take a child to church. Volunteer to teach Sunday School. Be involved in a youth group. It's time well invested! This is Wess Stafford. Speak up with compassion for a child in your world.
