Dear God . . . After school, I want to become the president of Rwanda!
Good for you, my young friend! It's entirely possible! I look forward to the day when I hear the words, "Presenting President Oriviye (Or-ree-vee-yea) of Rwanda!" This is Wess Stafford, ummm, President — of Compassion International. Nurture and encourage a child with words like, "you can do it." "How creative!" "You're the best." "No one can do it like you can." "You're amazing." Praise a child not just for succeeding, but for trying. Saying, "That was a really great try" will encourage them to have another go at it. There are children in your sphere of influence who need encouragement. A child may forget what you said — but they'll never forget how you made them feel!" This is Wess Stafford. Speak up with compassion to the children in your world.
