What was your family life like? I was born in a town called Debre Zeit, into a Christian family. I also grew up there. Both my parents have passed away, so I'm living with my aunt.

Describe your childhood community environment: I attended school around the place where I live. I made friends at school and in our village.

What are some of your personal interests and passions? My interests are playing musical instruments - I hope I'll be a great pianist - and I also like singing. My passion is influencing others with a positive attitude. My first choice was to study medical science, but I am assigned to study engineering, based on my academic result.

What is your vision for your time in the Leadership Development Program? I have a big dream to be a great, passionate leader. I want to study leadership because I want to change the future of my motherland.

Tell us about your spiritual, physical and academic goals for the next few years: I want to be a model Christian by reflecting Jesus in my life. I will protect my body from harm, as a responsible steward. I know that God blessed me with a good mind, so I'll do my best to excel and score good grades. I'll try to serve my community however I can.

How did you come to accept Christ as your personal Savior? I was born into an evangelical Christian family and I had the advantage of growing up in the church. When I grew to be mature enough to choose my way, when I was 12 years old, I accepted and decided to follow Jesus.

What is God teaching you right now? About four or five years ago I was in a wrong way, but God taught me according to 1 Timothy 4:15 ["Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress"] and got me to the right path. Now I am living responsibly.

Describe the impact Compassion has had on your personal and spiritual development: God used Compassion to raise me in everything, through trainings and spiritual classes.

How are you currently serving in your local church? I am serving in choir, teaching at Sunday school, leading youth ministry and leading the children's choir.

Who has had the most influence on your life and why? Singer Dawit Getachew has influenced me to know my personal ability and develop it biblically.

What challenges do you think you will face during your university experience? I don’t expect everything to be suitable, but I hope my LDP experience will help me to communicate with people with different backgrounds.

What are some of the problems in your community? There are many problems in the community, but the main ones are that youths have gotten addicted to drugs and unemployment has been widespread.

How do you plan to use your degree and leadership skills to address the problems in your community and advance the kingdom of God? I will do my best to give all the community deserves, by using my profession and leadership skills.
