Explain why you chose your course of study: I identify myself with the exact sciences, of which the curriculum of civil engineering is part.

How did you come to accept Christ as your personal Savior? I am happy that I was born at a Christian home. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was still a child and I was baptized when I was 16 years old. I grew up inside the church, and value the commitment I have until today.

Who has had the most influence on your life and why? My dad, because he has always tried to do the best he could to take care of my family and me. He has always put God and the family in the first place. He is righteous and a hard worker.

How has God used Compassion to form who you are today? Because Compassion is a Christian organization, that influenced me a lot, so that I kept going in the right direction and kept steady in the journey in which I had begun. Through the courses offered at the child development center, I could learn to play the guitar, which provided me other gifts, such as playing electric guitar and bass. Therefore, I am steady in the house of God and I am a musician at the church today.

What was your family life like? Even though I pass through conflicts common at my age, I have a harmonious relationship with my parents and my sisters. I feel my home is a refuge and a shelter.

Describe the environment where you grew up: I live in a neighborhood in the periphery where crime rates are high. There are young people using drugs at an early age and a low life expectancy.

What are some of your favorite activities? I like to play the guitar, go to the gym, stay with my family, and go to the movies.

How are you currently serving in your local church or community? I participate as a leader in a band at the church and I participate in a choir, too.

Tell us some of your strengths or special achievements: The fact that I passed the test and entered college was a great achievement last year, followed by the approval in the LDP at the beginning of this year.

How do you hope to use your future career and leadership skills to be a servant leader and help your community, church and country? I hope to be able to help my community through my profession with volunteer teaching and, through the abilities that I acquire, to encourage the young people to follow my career example. At the church I expect to contribute by being an influence on those I lead to take their role in the social and spiritual areas to change the country.

Tell us about your goals for next year.

Spiritual: Read the entire Bible to learn more from the Lord.

Physical: Practice more physical activities for the well-being of my body.

Academic: Become a monitor and part of the research group.

Social/Emotional: Be mature in relationships with people.

Servant Leadership: Inspire my musical group to serve the cause of the Master, Jesus.

Do you have a prayer request? Please help me to pray for God to enable me and give me maturity to face this journey with strength. Pray that God is always with me in all the moments and that I am steady in His ways, having Him as my only leader.
