Kenya Project - Rural

A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Kenya.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child in rural Kenya. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

Decades of drought have caused widespread instability among the people of Kenya, leading to high rates of malnutrition and infant mortality. Inter-tribal violence has continued to damage the nation's economy, and nearly 25 percent of the population lives on less than U.S.$1 a day. Compassion's work in Kenya began in 1980. There are currently more than 42,000 children participating in 170 Compassion-assisted projects.
