A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Indonesia.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in a rural setting in Indonesia. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

Map of Indonesia

Your sponsored child lives in the Republic of Indonesia, a chain of islands in Southeast Asia. Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country after China, India, and the United States. More than half the people live on the island of Java — the most densely populated large island on earth — where Jakarta, Indonesia's capital and largest city, is located. Although the islands are home to more than 100 ethnic groups, most Indonesians are of mixed origins and practice Islam. Compassion's work in Indonesia began in 1968.
