Honduras Project - Urban

A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in urban Honduras.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in urban Honduras. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

boy watering crops

A child waters the crops currently growing at the project's greenhouse. A small group of older children at the project receive training in hydroponics, a gardening method designed to produce crops in water (instead of in dirt) and in small spaces. This method allows for families to produce many crops without having to work a piece of land. Through the hydroponics training children at the project learn how to produced goods like cucumbers, lettuce, radishes, beets, green peppers and many herbs for cooking. In the future, the children will be able to produce crops at home for their families to eat or to sell.
