Honduras Project - Urban

A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in urban Honduras.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in urban Honduras. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

La Trinidad La Trinidad, home to the Misioneros de Cristo Student Center (HO-241), is a typical community in urban Honduras. This community, home to approximately 5,000 residents, is located in the southern section of Tegucigalpa, the Honduran capital — a large city of 1.7 million people. A garbage dump across the street from the project attracts many people looking for something useful or edible in the trash. Although the surrounding areas can be dangerous because of criminal and gang activity, the church facilities represent a safe place for children.
