Honduras Project - Rural

A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Honduras.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in rural Honduras. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

nurse assisting child At the Agape Student Center (HO-131), located 35 miles east of Tegucigalpa, children's health is treated not only when illnesses come, but also regularly as children are taught preventive health through good hygiene habits. Here, the project nurse cleans a child's wound. This project has a health care room where the nurse treats minor health problems. For more complicated medical care and for semiannual regular checkups, the children are taken to a local clinic. Common health problems in this area include respiratory illnesses, dengue fever, malaria, skin diseases, diarrhea and worms.
