A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Guatemala.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in rural Guatemala. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

Map of Guatemala

Located in Central America, Guatemala has a long history of unstable government prone to frequent and aggressive military overthrows. In recent years citizens of Guatemala have been devastated by floods and other natural disasters. Children in Guatemala deal with the effects of poverty daily. In urban areas like Guatemala City, communities are plagued with gangs and violence, while indigenous children have little access to medical care or schools. Compassion began its work in Guatemala in 1976. Currently, more than 29,000 children are registered in 122 projects.
