A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Ecuador.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in rural Ecuador. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

Map of Ecuador

While tourists flock to Ecuador to view its famed Galapagos Islands, those tourism dollars rarely trickle to the 70 percent of residents who live below the poverty line. A long history of a weak government and budget mismanagement have led to the deterioration of the country's economy. Compassion's work in Ecuador began in 1974. Currently, more than 39,000 children participate in 187 projects. Compassion works with church partners to provide Ecuadorian children the opportunity to rise above their circumstances and become all God has created them to be.
