A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Dominican Republic.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in rural Dominican Republic. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

Map of the Dominican Republic

With a population of nearly nine million people, the Dominican Republic is a country in the West Indies and shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti, which occupies the western third of the island. The Dominican Republic was a colony of Spain for about three centuries, and most of its people are of mixed Spanish and African descent. Today, Dominicans speak Spanish, love baseball, and follow many Spanish traditions.
