Brazil Project - Rural

A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Brazil.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in rural Brazil. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

Jorge Luis da Soledade Barroso, 15, sits on a sofa in his home reading letters from his sponsor. "I think we have two parts of poverty here," says Susete Cardoso, Compassion's Brazil Country Director. "The first is a lack of resources, clothes, food and opportunities. But there is an inside component of poverty, and that is lack of hope. And I think our challenge is to create opportunities and to restore hope." Writing a letter to your sponsored child is a tremendous way of giving hope and letting a child know that he or she matters.

To write a letter to your child in "My Account", just log in and choose "Contact Your Child" in the left-hand navigation bar.
