Brazil Project - Rural

A daily miracle — a look inside the life of a sponsored child in rural Brazil.

Take this visual tour to get a better sense of what life looks like for a sponsored child who lives in rural Brazil. You'll learn how sponsorship helps children stay healthy, learn valuable skills and, most importantly, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Aren't sure whether your child lives in a rural or urban setting? Visit "My Account" and click "Child Information." Under "Project Information," there is a description that tells you the nearest city to your child's community.

Map of Brazil

With a population of more than 180 million, Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world, and the largest in South America. On the surface, Brazil seems to be making strides against poverty, with the infant mortality rate decreasing and more and more children enrolled in school. However, thousands of mothers still die in childbirth each year, and the quality of education remains poor. Compassion's work in Brazil began in 1974. Currently, more than 34,000 children are registered in 132 projects.
