Ginny Owens was able to meet two of her six sponsored children while she was in Ecuador. Here, Mariana leads Ginny along the cobblestone streets of Iberra, Ecuador. "I'll never forget how gentle Mariana was with me," says Ginny. "Sometimes, when we were walking up or down the stairs, she'd put her arm under my shoulders as if her tiny body could lift me up or down the steps. It made me chuckle, and it also made me marvel at the maturity of a young girl who was willing to bare the weight of someone else — someone she barely knew." Shelly Breen of the group Point of Grace visited several Compassion projects while she was in Ecuador. Spending time with the children and their families has enabled Shelly to share her experiences with Point of Grace's audience. "Once you really experience the things Compassion does, you can talk about it from your heart," says Shelly.
