Update: Aug. 28, 2008 –Tropical Storm Fay has caused at least 50 deaths and damaged farmlands and homes located on the coast.
No Compassion-assisted children were injured in the storm although; the homes of 11 children were damaged or destroyed.
All Compassion-assisted child development centers are operating normally.
Please join us in thanking God for protecting our children, families and staff.
Please pray for those who lost homes or possessions. Also continue to pray for the country of Haiti throughout the hurricane season.

Aug. 19, 2008 - On Aug. 16, Tropical Storm Fay hit the country of Haiti.
- Strong winds and heavy rainfall caused flooding that damaged rice fields, banana crops and homes in the southern part of the country.
- Fifty people were killed when a bus flooded as it was trying to cross a river.
Thankfully, no Compassion-assisted children or child development centers have been affected.
