UPDATE: Sept. 30, 2008 – Repairs to Compassion-assisted child development center BR-399 have begun.
BR-399 will remain closed for two weeks as the damage caused to the roof and windows of the child development center are being fixed.
One woman who has been working as a cook for two years at the child development center is currently living with her five children (two are Compassion-assisted) in a small room at the church after their home was completely destroyed.
People from the church donated a new mattress and clothes to the family and are helping repair the house.
Please pray for those who lost homes or possessions in the storm, especially those families who attend BR-399.
Compassion Brazil will keep us updated as more information is available.
Compassion International will contact you if your sponsored child has been affected.

There are 11 Compassion-assisted child development centers in the area. Only one, BR-399, was affected by the storm.
- The roof and windows of BR-399 were damaged by the hail and materials were also damaged from the flooding.
- BR-399 has temporarily stopped regular activities until the damage is fixed.
