Advisory: Flooding in Bangladesh

UPDATE: Sept. 22, 2008 - The heavy rains that caused flooding in parts of Bangladesh earlier this month have subsided and the floodwater has receded.

The children whose homes were affected have received help.

Praise the Lord for His faithful protection of the staff and children.

Compassion Bangladesh will keep us updated as more information is available.

Compassion International will contact you if your sponsored child has been affected.

Sept. 10, 2008 - Recent heavy rains have caused flooding in the lower parts of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Two Compassion child development centers are in the area:

  • BD-101
  • BD-301

The child development centers have not been affected. Some Compassion-assisted children have homes that have been flooded but no Compassion-assisted children have been harmed.

Please pray for the children and their families whose homes have been flooded.
