Compassion-sponsored children have access to educational opportunities, medical care, nutritious food, and the knowledge of the love of Jesus. They have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayer, too.

Following are prayer requests from the Uganda Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in Uganda:

• Pray for the health and well-being of the Compassion children and families in Uganda as they recover from injuries and rebuild homes damaged by the recent heavy rains.
• Pray that total peace will be experienced in war-torn northern Uganda. Negotiation meetings are underway. Pray that the child development centers in that area will be able to minister to the victims of the fighting.
• Pray that Ugandan children continue to be sponsored as a result of the Uganda blog trip. Seventy-one more sponsors are needed to reach our goal of 500.
• Pray for the more than 12 million children in Africa who suffer from AIDS. Pray that Compassion staff will know how to meet the unique needs of these families.
• Pray that Compassion's partner churches will continue to find ways to minister to AIDS orphans and their families.
• Pray for the Compassion staff members who are filling in as role models for children in poverty.
• Pray that the resources the Compassion church partners receive will enable them to have a life-changing impact on their communities.
