Compassion-sponsored children have access to education, medical care, nutritious food and knowledge of the love of Jesus. They have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayer, too.

The following are prayer requests from the Rwanda Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in Rwanda:

• Please pray for the young children who are suffering illnesses due to lack of good medical care. Pray that they will receive the treatment they need and that the Lord will fully restore them to health so they can enjoy their childhood.
• Pray for the children growing up in poverty. Pray they will not feel the weight of shame or let the economic status of their family dictate their worth. Please pray the Lord will protect the joy and excitement of childhood.
• Pray for the efforts of Compassion staff. May the Lord bless the work of their hands and allow their plans to succeed that it may bring glory and acknowledgement to His name.
• Pray for caregivers who have taken in and are raising abandoned children. Ask the Lord to strengthen and encourage their hearts.  
• Pray for the thousands of orphans in Rwanda. Pray that they will not be defeated by poverty but will discover the hope of Christ.
