Compassion-sponsored children have access to educational opportunities, medical care, nutritious food and knowledge of the love of Jesus. They have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayer, too.

The following are prayer requests from the Peru Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in Peru:

• Pray for the child development centers that are being rebuilt in areas where last year's 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck.
  • Pray for the children and families who live in the disaster area, that they may stay in good health despite the poor sanitary conditions.
• Pray for the safety of all Compassion staff who must travel to accomplish their work.
• Pray for the Leadership Development Program staff and office managers as they interview applicants for the program.
• Pray for the safety and protection of the children and families affected by the intense rains in Piura on Peru's northern coast.
• Pray for the thousands of children in Peru who must drop out of school to help support their families.
• Pray that Compassion-assisted centers will continue to find ways to offer vocational training to registered children.
