Compassion-sponsored children have access to education, medical care, nutritious food and knowledge of the love of Jesus. They have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayer, too.

The following are prayer requests from the Nicaragua Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in Nicaragua:

• Please pray for the children as they attend the child development centers. May they connect with the other children and form good friendships with them. Pray they will encourage one another in the joy of the Lord and support each other through difficult situations.
• Please pray for children, staff and families as cases of the H1N1 virus have been reported. Pray for the Lord to bring His healing to those who have been infected and wisdom for the government as they work to stop the spread of this disease.
• Pray for protection for the children against psychological, physical and sexual abuse from their parents, relatives and others.
• Pray for the thousands of children involved in child labor in Nicaragua. Pray that their families will see the importance of educating their children.
