Compassion-sponsored children have access to educational opportunities, medical care, nutritious food and knowledge of the love of Jesus. The children have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayers, too.

The following are prayer requests from the Mexico Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in Mexico:

• Please pray for the Lord's protection over children, families and staff as there has been an outbreak of swine flu (now called the H1N1 virus). Pray for the Lord to intercede, and grant wisdom to government leaders and Compassion staff in Mexico while they work to stop the spread of this disease.
• Pray for the love of the Lord to be demonstrated through the many different relationships that affect children with their families, siblings, friends and the staff.
• Pray that the children would have a desire and passion to follow Jesus. Please pray for their hearts to be open to receive and understand the teaching from church.
• Pray for the single mothers who have to educate and raise children by themselves. Pray for their homes to become refuges for children and not dangerous places.
