Compassion-sponsored children have access to educational opportunities, medical care, nutritious food and knowledge of the love of Jesus. The children have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayer, too.

The following are prayer requests from the Kenya Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in Kenya:

• Praise God for the peace that Kenya has experienced since the power-sharing agreement was signed.
  • Pray that each party upholds its promises and fulfills its roles so that the seeds of Kenya's future -- peace, coexistence and equality -- are nurtured.
  • Pray that the economy recovers quickly.
• Pray that communities cherish one another, that the interests of children are placed ahead of personal differences.
• Pray that God provides for the needs of the people displayed by the political violence, and that He guards the hearts and minds of the children who were affected by and witnessed to the violence.
• Pray that peace returns to the country and the economy recovers quickly.
• Pray that the victims of rape and assault as a result of the post-election violence may find assistance and healing.
• Pray that the notion of tribality be eliminated from the minds of all Kenyans.
