UPDATE: Oct. 21, 2009 – Due to the heavy rains and water from the dam that recently burst, the River Krishna in Andhra, India, is causing the worst flooding in years.
In addition to the affected child development center reported previously, three additional centers have children who have been affected by the flooding.
Relief supplies continue to be distributed.
Please pray for the children and families affected by the heavy rain. Pray they will seek God to provide for their needs and restore their homes.

Oct. 7, 2009 - Recent heavy rains in India caused a dam to burst and flood the district of Kurnool in Andhra.
Compassion has one child development center in Kurnool, and the center office was flooded.
All the homes of Compassion-assisted children from the center have been flooded and their belongings have been lost. Some children from a nearby center have also been affected.
Church partners are providing shelter and food to all affected families.
Compassion India will provide each affected family with relief supplies which include:
- blankets
- mats
- pillows
- cooking pots
- rice
- dall and oil
