Heavy rains in El Salvador triggered a massive mudslide on May 29 near the town of Berlin in Usulután, a state about 63 miles east of the capital city of San Salvador. The town is home to Compassion-assisted Monte Sinai Student Center (ES-769).
More than 15 Compassion-assisted children and their families in El Salvador are staying in temporary shelters, following an earthquake that shook parts of the country on December 31, 2006.
