Advisory: Heavy Rains in Brazil

UPDATE: Dec. 29, 2009 – Heavy rains over the past few weeks have continued to overwhelm communities in and surrounding Sao Paulo in Brazil.

Many people have taken shelter in schools or homes of relatives until the rain stops.

The home of one Compassion-assisted child has been damaged by the flooding, and his family is currently staying at the center.

The flooded Compassion-assisted center, BR-368, continues to operate normally and is helping the affected family.

Please pray for those living in the affected area, especially the children and families who have had to relocate. Ask God for His continued protection.

Compassion Brazil will keep us updated as more information is available.

Compassion International will contact you if your sponsored child has been affected.
