UPDATE: Dec. 29, 2009 – Heavy rains over the past few weeks have continued to overwhelm communities in and surrounding Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Many people have taken shelter in schools or homes of relatives until the rain stops.
The home of one Compassion-assisted child has been damaged by the flooding, and his family is currently staying at the center.
The flooded Compassion-assisted center, BR-368, continues to operate normally and is helping the affected family.
Please pray for those living in the affected area, especially the children and families who have had to relocate. Ask God for His continued protection.

Dec. 10, 2009 - Recent heavy rains have caused landslides in the Sao Paulo area of Brazil.
One of Compassion's child development centers, BR-368, was flooded. Nothing was broken or lost and the center is operating normally.
Up to five Compassion-assisted children live in a dangerous area prone to landslides. More rain is forecasted for the weekend, and so staff member from the center are checking on these children.
