LETTER WRITING

If you're writing a Christmas card to your child in Rwanda, here are some things to remember:

  • Christmas is one of the four main Christian holidays celebrated. On each of these holidays, Christians usually attend church and enjoy a special family meal featuring dishes made from the cassava plant and a variety of tropical fruit.

If you're writing a birthday card to your child, here are some things to remember:

  • A child's birth date is often not recorded in African countries.

Information Regarding Names:

  • Many African people are routinely called by their surname instead of their first name.
  • Either the surname or the personal name can be used. They are not particular about the order in which a name is written, or which name to use in addressing a person.

Write your child a letter.
