LETTER WRITING
If you're writing a Christmas card to your child in El Salvador, here are some things to remember:
- El Salvadoran child development centers make Christmas a season of love and happiness for the children in their care. Santa Claus and his family visit some of the centers "in person," bringing with them presents, love and attention for all the kids. Piñatas, games and drama groups are also part of the celebration.
- Afterward, children enjoy a tasty meal of turkey, a very unusual food for them. However, children never eat all the food; they always take some of the dinner home to share with their families.
Information Regarding Language Differences:
- In Spanish-speaking countries, "culto" means "worship service."
